Beautiful, golden, sandy, clean and almost deserted in winter, the cool fresh morning air on the beaches of Agadir, Morocco definitely have something unique in them that no other beach in the world has. Extremely animated and overlooked by a hill along with the old ruin of “Kashbah” the natural beauty of the region is immense. After the tragic earthquake that struck Agadir, the city was rebuilt to be made better and more beautiful than it was prior to the quake. It was the needs and wants of the tourists, more than any other factor, that led to the beautification and the rebuilding of the city to such an extent. The streets were widened, trees were planted and hotels were constructed between the city and the beaches for tourists to retreat into during the night after a cold and tiring day in the scorching but pleasant sun.

Agadir is not truly Moroccan, civilization and development struck Agadir turning it into a more technical and developed city, making the tradition and culture here disappear slowly over the ages. It is, what many people call, “universal”. Pretty easy a place but not too different from home.

Honestly speaking, Agadir may not be very interesting or spectacular, neither is it oriental. However, the beaches make it worth all the trouble. The beaches of Agadir are no lesser than Paradise on Earth. Running on the sandy shores, with the cool breeze blowing into your face, the sweet smell of the sea and the sound of the waves clashing against the beach and breaking on the rocks, the birds chirping, the sun shining with all its might, the beaches of Agadir are truly unique. They’re different from any other beach you may have visited around the world. The very sight of the beach lets your spirit loose and your heart beat harder and faster. You can literally feel your soul escaping and the stress and tiredness of your body evaporating. It is a really relaxing experience, a real change from the regular busy and hectic lifestyle you lead back at home, working day in and out, leaving no time for yourself, in the concrete jungles.

The long, wide, clean beaches extend southwards, till as far as your eye can see. The cool breeze blowing from the Atlantic just adds to the pleasant ambience. A swim in the clean sea water would really help relax your mind and body taking out all the pain and suffering you have gone through over the years, leading your hectic lifestyle where nothing and no one is more important to you than work and profession.

To sum up Agadir, the beaches are the major tourist attractions in this place. Though there’s not much that is great about Agadir itself, the beaches cover up for all the flaws Agadir has! Everything is just so calm, serene and quiet. The atmosphere is simple lovely and relaxing. A visit to Agadir can be one of the most memorable and pleasant experiences you’ve had in your life.
